Results in GE14: Dr Dzulkefly (29,842) won the seat with a majority of 8,498 votes against UMNO’s Dato’ Irmohizam Ibrahim (21,344) and PAS’s Mohd Fakaruddin Ismail (8,535).
He contested for Kuala Selangor parliamentary seat in the 13th General Election but was defeated by Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim of Barisan Nasional by 460 votes.
Personal details: Born in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, he is married to Puan Azlin Hj. Hezri (spouse) and the couple has 7 children.

Qualification:

- Holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Birmingham and a Master's degree from the University of Surrey.

- Completed his Doctorate in Toxicology from the Imperial College (St. Mary's Hospital Medical School) in 1993.

1. He is outspoken and never afraid to stand for the right thing

- He had been a vocal political analyst and was once arrested during a protest against the increase of oil prices in 2008.

2. An active writer

- He has pblished a collection of political analyses in a book entitled 'Blind Spot', and has been a columnist for the Harakah newspaper of PAS and the Edge Financial Daily. He also keeps up with modernisation as he owns his own blog that mainly talks about current and political issues.

3. A respected student leader

- He was also active as a leader of the student movement in the United Kingdom in the 1970s and 1980s and was also a social activist in non-governmental organisations.

4. He is also known as a an internationally renowned speaker

- Dr Dzulkefly had been invited often to present working papers, both at the national and international levels, particularly in topics related to economic development and race relations. He is indeed a great medical scientist.

5. Was a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia

- Dr Dzulkefly was a lecturer at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, in Penang and the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM), Kelantan, in the 1980s and 1990s.
