Kuala Lumpur, 13 July 2023 – Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today made waves with the launch of the All-New Winsome Runabout Vehicle (WR-V) in four variants, taking the lead in the Small SUV trend in Malaysia. With the arrival of the All-New WR-V, Honda Malaysia becomes the first Japanese mass market manufacturer to introduce a new model in the Non-National Small SUV segment. 

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said, “As the automotive landscape changes in Malaysia, we are witnessing a rise in demand for SUV models. This segment is increasing in popularity as it is practical and spacious, while offering driving performance and comfort. Based on the insights, Honda’s Research and Development (R&D) team incorporated the best features of an SUV into a smaller design, to enable the joy of owning a practical and Small SUV for everyday urban commutes. Thus, we debuted Honda Malaysia’s first Small SUV in the country, the All-New WR-V. The exciting market acceptance is attributable to its distinctive design language which encompasses the most sought-after features of an SUV that make this all-new model fun and attractive. The All-New WR-V RS variant will be treated to a Mesh-Style Grille with silver chrome, silver painted Lower Garnish and 17” Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels for a stylish feel. It demands attention with its impressive ground clearance of 207mm, surpassing even cars from a higher class. Other exterior features that further enhance the appearance of the All-New WR-V are its Trunk Spoiler, Shark Fin Antenna *¹, Auto LED Headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) *2, LED Front Fog Lights *2 as well as Front LED Sequential Turn Signals *3. 

As part of the Honda family, the All-New WR-V is equipped with innovative and functional features for customers’ utmost convenience. Among these features are Power Retractable Door Mirror, Smart Entry with Push Start Button, Remote Engine Start *1 and Walk Away Auto Lock *1. 

The All-New WR-V offers a clutter-free interior that optimises cabin space while maintaining its vibrant and modern aesthetics. This design language enables drivers and passengers to enjoy optimal comfort in a compact car, further enhanced by Auto Air Conditioning *2 and Leather Seats *4. The All-New WR-V also comes with a 7-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ *⁵ Connectivity, 6 Speakers *3, 4.2-inch TFT Meter Cluster *1 and Paddle Shift *3. On top of that, the All-New WR-V exemplifies practicality and spaciousness, delivering a hassle-free experience for customers as they run their day-to-day errands with its capacious 380-litre capacity trunk and a 60:40 Split Rear Seat configuration that allows flexibility for bulkier items. 

Under the hood of the All-New WR-V is a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine which pushes out a maximum power output of 121PS and 145Nm of torque. Integrated with Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with G-design shift technology, the All-New WR-V provides the joy of excellent fuel economy and exceptional driving performance.

Safety remains at the forefront of Honda’s priorities, and the All-New WR-V incorporates a multitude of advanced safety features such as Honda LaneWatch, a standard feature for all variants, and Honda SENSING *1 which consists of eight safety functions:

In addition, the RS variant is equipped with Honda CONNECT to provide added safety, security and convenience for the Small SUV owners. 

The All-New WR-V is available in five colour options, including a brand-new colour, Stellar Diamond Pearl, which marks a first for a Honda model. The other colours for the model are Platinum White Pearl, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.
