More Drivers to Get PAYD

 |  Friday, 19 June 2020 12:10  |  Published in GENERAL

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 June 2020 – Tune Protect Malaysia recently enhanced their Pay-As-You-Drive (PAYD) eligibility criteria as more Malaysians have embraced the work-from-home (“WFH”) practice, by extending the eligibility age of insured (vehicle owners) to 65 years and age of vehicle to 10 years. This enhancement will benefit more drivers and enable a wider segment of vehicle owners to enjoy the benefits of PAYD, an opt-in feature to the company’s motor insurance that rewards customers for driving less as they adapt to their new lifestyles.

As the country moves into recovery from COVID-19, the WFH arrangement is co-existing in the new normal and reshaping people’s daily lifestyles in many ways. The WFH arrangement seems to be the preferred choice for 69% of the local workforce from a recent study undertaken by KPMG. This arrangement has led to a significant drop in nationwide traffic leading to the shift in working trends amongst Malaysians. Acknowledging the fact that more people are working from home, Tune Protect Malaysia believes that those who drive less should be aptly rewarded by paying less premiums than the frequent drivers.

Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2020 – Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s leading online travel and lifestyle experiences booking platform, presents the Medical Heroes Appreciation Campaign to celebrate and recognise the immense sacrifice the frontline workers made to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. Starting from June 17 to December 31, 2020, all healthcare workers ranging from doctors, nurses, to admin staff will be eligible to book accommodation across Malaysia with a special discount of up to 40% via Traveloka app and website. This initiative is part of an exclusive collaboration between Traveloka with hotel partners, Malaysian Health Travel Council (MHTC) and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).

Malaysia has recorded a steady decline in new positive cases across the country with the total of 651 active cases still receiving treatment and recovery rate stood at 90.9% (as per June 17). Many districts are also transitioning into the green zone, leaving only two red zones. “The achievement of this country in containing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic will not be as excellent if it is not because of the support and contribution of our medical heroes. They have worked day and night in a bid to keep the communities safe, even risking their own safety. Demonstrating our tremendous gratitude towards them, Traveloka works alongside our hotel partners and is in collaboration with MHTC and MMA to provide a token of appreciation by giving the healthcare frontliners a special rate to stay at our accommodation inventories across Malaysia,” said Angelica Chan, Traveloka Country Market Manager for Malaysia.
