Titijaya Land Bhd, a Malaysian property developer listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities, has announced the appointment of Datuk Nozirah binti Bahari as its Independent Non-Executive Director effective today. She will also be appointed as the Chairman of Audit Committee of Titijaya Land.
Nozirah also holds directorship in public companies such as RHB Investment Bank, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, and MyWin Academy Berhad.
Commenting on the appointment of Norizah, Titijaya Land Managing Director Tan Sri Lim Soon Peng said: “We would like to welcome Datuk Nozirah onboard and look forward to working with her to uphold the good corporate governance within Titijaya Land. We believe that her experience from being in various ministries in Malaysia as well as her international exposure, shall add value to the board and provide reliable opinions in her areas of expertise.”
Having started her career as Assistant Secretary of the Finance Division in the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, Nozirah has since served in various ministries including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Prime Minister’s Department (MAMPU Branch Office in Sabah) over the years. She held the position of Deputy Secretary General (Management) of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia before she was appointed as Chairman to an agency of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, namely Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd.
Currently, she also sits on the Board of Private Pension Administrator, a body approved by the Securities Commission Malaysia to oversee and promote the growth of the industry, creating general awareness and educating the public on Private Retirement Schemes as well as protecting members’ interests.
Nozirah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science (Hons) in Urban Studies from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Diploma in Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration.
She has also attended several management programmes such as the Advanced Management Programme in Harvard Business School and Global Leadership Development Programme organised by the International Centre for Leadership in Finance.
