edotco and the Telecom Infra Project connecting urban underserved communities with next generation solutions

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2020 – edotco Group Sdn. Bhd. (edotco), the leading regional integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company, and the Telecom Infra Project (TIP), announced today that they are on track to unlock new network efficiencies that will improve connectivity at urban street level and indoor coverage in underserved areas in South East Asia and South Asia, starting in Malaysia. This latest advancement is a further example of a deepening engagement through TIP’s ecosytem, a global community of companies and organizations that are driving infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity.

With the initial phase of the collaboration on the OpenRAN trials progressing well, we are moving to the next phase focusing on the development of end-to-end urban solutions for 4G and 5G. The next phase will focus on the development of a deployment blueprint which will be tested in a TIP Community Lab together with System Integrators, with the goal of simplifying the process of network coverage extension and modernization. Once the blueprints have been validated, they will be shared with the broader TIP community and products will be listed on TIP Exchange.

AIMS Announces Construction of Tier III Flagship Facility in Cyberjaya

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2020AIMS Data Centre (AIMS), Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s leading interconnected data centre, announced today that it has started construction on a new Tier III purpose-built data centre facility in Cyberjaya. The facility, named AIMS @ Cyberjaya, will serve as AIMS’ flagship data centre facility, in addition to Menara AIMS located in Kuala Lumpur.

“AIMS @ Cyberjaya will enhance the already symbiotic ecosystem that AIMS is known for. The new facility will open Malaysia up to more connections and the prospect of establishing itself as a regional data centre hub given its strategic location in Southeast Asia with domestic and international connectivity, ease of access and relatively lower cost of entry,” says Chiew Kok Hin, Chief Executive Officer of AIMS.

Zurich Malaysia’s New Collaborations Offers Malaysians Convenient Way to Renew Road Tax and Purchase Motor Insurance

Kuala Lumpur, 2 July 2020 - Over two million Malaysian road taxes remain expired as the Road Transport Department (JPJ) counters shut during the movement control order (MCO). In an effort to help address this as well as MalaysiaÕs alarming number of uninsured vehicles on the road, Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Berhad (Zurich General Insurance) is collaborating with Finology Sdn Bhd (Finology) and their affiliate partner PayLink Global (M) Sdn Bhd (Payquik) to provide road tax renewal services and motor insurance purchase via PayquikÕs network of kiosks which are the first of its kind in Malaysia.

Through this strategic collaboration, road users in Malaysia will enjoy seamless convenience when it comes renewing their road tax or purchasing motor insurance for their cars and motorcycles. There are approximately 250 Payquik kiosks available nationwide located primarily in the offices of utility companies, shopping malls and government buildings so Malaysians can access them while running errands such as paying bills or grocery shopping.
