AIMS Named as First Corporate Buyer
Cyberjaya, 23 June 2025 – TIME dotCom’s renewable energy business, Time Energy Sdn Bhd, today announced Malaysia’s first community solar initiative for data centres, with AIMS Group (AIMS) named as the first anchor customer via the Community Renewable Energy Aggregation Mechanism (CREAM).
This initiative unlocks residential rooftop solar potential to meet the ever-rising clean energy demand of data centres.

CREAM enables most households – including those with lower electricity usage – to participate in the country’s renewable energy journey. By generating solar energy for corporate buyers, households contribute to a cleaner energy mix and earn extra income.
“CREAM opens the door for any home to generate and sell clean energy to corporations”, said Arjun Arasu, CEO of Time Energy. “We look forward to bringing solar to more homes, so more people can be involved in helping Malaysia achieve its renewable energy goals.”
Under this initiative:
- Landed households within a 5km radius of AIMS’ Cyberjaya data centre can lease out their rooftops to Emit Solar, Time Energy’s solar brand.
- Emit Solar will install, operate, and maintain the solar systems, and aggregate the energy generated.
- AIMS will purchase the community-generated solar energy to help power its data centres.
“As a high energy consumer, we’re committed to decarbonising our data centres by incorporating more renewables” said Chiew Kok Hin, CEO of AIMS. “CREAM gives us a new way to source clean energy while supporting community participation in the net zero journey and strengthening our ESG commitments.”
“We’re proud of AIMS for becoming Malaysia’s first data centre to tap into community-generated solar as part of its renewable energy strategy, and we look forward to helping more organisations participate in CREAM,” Arjun concluded.
Time Energy and AIMS have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an initial small-scale deployment, signed in the presence of Mr. Anuar Zaki bin Bakar, Under Secretary of the Electricity Supply Division from the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), representing the Secretary-General of PETRA.
