PETRONAS Chemicals Fertiliser Sabah Sdn Bhd (PCFSSB), a subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, the petrochemical arm of PETRONAS, brought Christmas cheer to about 100 families in Sipitang through its Sentuhan Kasih Programme.

PCFSSB chief executive officer, Mohd Kamis A Manap, handed out grocery hampers to the families from 30 villages within the vicinity of the company’s operations.

“PETRONAS appreciates the local communities in Sabah and wishes to celebrate their diversity during this Christmas celebration to strengthen the existing bond shared between us,” said Mohd Kamis.

He added that PETRONAS remains committed to continuously contribute to CSR initiatives that enhance the sustainable development of the people in Sipitang, anchored upon PETRONAS’ three key pillars of community wellbeing, education and environment.

This is the third year that PCFSSB is carrying out the Sentuhan Kasih programme since its inception in 2016.

Also present at the event were Minister of Education and Innovation of Sabah, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob, and the management team of PCFSSB.

On December 11 PETRONAS Chemicals Methanol Sdn Bhd (PCMSB) also organised a similar programme at Labuan Nukleus Hospital in Labuan.

PCMSB was represented by its chief executive officer, Lawai Jok, who donated three wheelchairs for the hospital and distributed gifts comprising personal care items to 100 patients.

Sentuhan Kasih is PETRONAS’ CSR programme that reaches out to the less fortunate during festive seasons throughout the year.

Launched in 2005, it also aims to nurture the spirit of volunteerism among the employees of PETRONAS and its affiliates, by providing them a platform to serve the community through the contribution of their time, skills and experience.
