KLIFF Turns 15

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum, a cake cutting ceremony was held soon after the Forum opened its session in Kuala Lumpur this morning.

The cake cutting was led by the Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah who kicked off the Forum with a keynote address.

The time is now and right for Islamic finance players to take on a more prominent role in the finance technology (fintech) ecosystem.
 
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah said the technology is ripe, with higher penetration of mobile and Internet across markets while the consumers are also becoming more and more tech-savvy.

The 15th edition of the Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF) commenced its first day of proceeding at the Royale Chulan  Kuala Lumpur this morning.

The two-day event, with a theme of Technology Face and Sustainability Voice in Islamic Finance, kicked off with a keynote address presented by the Deputy Finance Minister Dato Amiruddin Hamzah.

A Malaysian consortium, consisting of a global shariah advisory firm Amanie Advisors and a boutique law firm CSQlaw, aims to establish its first international office in Kazakhstan within the early second quarter of this year.

PETRONAS, with its growing portfolio of LNG supply sources in Malaysia, Australia, Egypt and soon in Canada, is well-positioned to provide clean energy through its flexible and innovative LNG solutions to existing and new demand markets, as well as to emerging trading hubs. 
 

A group of 100 technicians and engineers from the Malaysian plastics industry have completed Malaysia’s first Industry 4.0 training course, under a 12-month pilot programme organised by the Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA).

Cyberjaya’s Tech Hub Enabler, Cyberview Sdn Bhd and Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) signed a mutual agreement to enable the construction of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station for the MRT Sungai Buloh–Serdang–Putrajaya (SSP) Line in the Cyberjaya City Centre.

This is the first agreement signed for a development project under the Selangor State’s Public Infrastructure Oriented Development (PIOD) policy that was introduced in 2017.
